Bhagya Wijewardane has been in the educational field for many years and has had many successful experiences. The purpose to open Keystone Montessori Academy was to provide a positive environment for her own children. Keystone Montessori Academy was developed with four core values in mind, such as, Safety, Education, Nutrition, Challenging and a Nurturing Environment.

After graduating with her Computer Aided Designing and Architecture degree she worked as a Telecommunication Designer for a prestigious company, working closely with LAUSD schools designing cable plants. Due to desiring to provide strong cultural and a family background for her children, Bhagya decided to go back home to Sri Lanka. While exposing her children to essential values of the Sri Lankan culture Bhagya decided to earn her AMI Diploma Certificate at the same time. Upon returning Bhagya earned her early childhood post graduate diplomas from UCLA with a Certificate of Distinction. Furthermore, went on to obtain her California Site Supervisor Permit, along with several training certificates such as California regulations, Child Abuse, Safety, Coaching and Mentoring for Business and Professional Growth, Marketing and Business Management. Bhagya, to date, continuous to work with educational and childcare professionals for further knowledge and support.

Being as an elected junior and senior prefect, living true to her girl scout’s promise along with a good sense of leadership that was proven at a very young age, Bhagya was involved in a wide variety of clubs in her school, such as Broadcasting, English Literature, Interact /Rotary and Interschools drug prevention. Due to her hard work Bhagya earned and was awarded the second highest GPA of her middle school years, which provided the opportunity to excel in several additional responsibilities and created the platform to participate in sports teams and several competitions.

Today, Bhagya is an avid blogger on several internet-based platforms providing essential information for parents to gain knowledge in the development and growth of a child. She is a loving mother to two wonderful girls, a successful girl scout troop leader, a realtor and lastly a life long learner.
